All The Worlds Maps: A Compilation of Each Nation's Maps - Including Cities     Find current,  historical, political, physical, and elevation maps, country facts, places of interest, local times, visas, transportation information, currency converters, political and economic overviews, and environmental trends for the world's nations.
 

BBC News Country Profiles     Provides general country information (including audio and video clips from the BBC archives), timelines, and links to news and press agencies, television and radio.
 

Business Culture Guides     Provides business culture guides for selected countries.  Information includes business dress, topics of conversation, making appointments, entertaining and gift giving.
 

Country Briefings     From Economist.com, provides news articles, economic and political information including forecasts, and basic country information for sixty countries.
 

Country Commercial Guides: Fiscal Year 2001     (2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996)     Released by the U.S. Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, provides 50-150 page .PDF country guides prepared by U.S. embassies.  Chapters include  Economic Trends and Outlook,  Business Travel-- Business Customs,  Business Infrastructure,  Marketing U.S. Products and Services,  Political Environment,  and Investment Climate.
 


Freedom in the World 2003: Country and Related Territory Reports     Provides overviews and timelines of political rights and civil liberties of nations.
 

The Glossarist     A comprehensive searchable directory of glossaries and topical dictionaries that includes foreign language resources.  Need a Japanese food  or Spanish wines dictionary?  German or French football terms?  A Spanish to French banking glossary?  This one has it all.
 

Grammars and Language Courses     From YourDictionary.com, provides grammars and language courses for 100 languages.  Also includes newspapers, radio stations, dictionaries, and fonts. 
 

Independent States in the World     U.S. State Department site that lists short and long form country names, capitals, whether or not country has diplomatic relations with the U.S. and whether or not country is a member of the United Nations.  Links to  Dependencies and Areas of Special Sovereignty.
