  Getting Started:

EBSCO

EBSCO provides access to about twenty databases.  You can search just one database (for example, ERIC) or as many as you like.

The default search in EBSCO is a simple search.  If you select "Guided Search", you can enter multiple key word terms and limit your results to full-text articles and/or peer reviewed journals.

"Guided Search" can also be used to locate articles found in ERIC.  The citation information can be entered in the search boxes and drop-down boxes can be used to specify "author", "article title", and "journal name".

When viewing an article, note the hyper-linked subject links. Clicking a subject link can often be a productive source of relevant articles.

Wilson Web

Wilson Web includes five databases.  OmniFile Full Text Mega has education articles.

Using "Search Plus" allows the use of two search boxes and the ability to limit results to full-text and peer reviewed journals.

"Browse" lets you view an alphabetical list of the terms contained in a selected field ("free text", "journal name", "subject"), beginning with the term you typed, and indicates in parentheses the number of records that contain each term.  Selecting "Search Now" allows you to retrieve all the articles linked to a term.

JSTOR

JSTOR provides access to four full-text education journals,

Journal of Blacks in Higher Education (1993-1998), Journal of Higher Education (1930-1995), Journal of Negro Education (1932-1995), and Sociology of Education (1963-1995).

NetLibrary

NetLibrary is a full-text electronic book database.

Books may be previewed for 15 minutes or checked out for two hours.
