Personal

I am married to Eugene C. Lacefield, who is in charge of the Soybean Variety Research Program at the University of Kentucky.

We live in Lexington during the week, but retreat to our 230-acre farm in Henry County on the weekends. We have over 100 acres of woods and several types of gardens. Being at the farm also gives me a chance to read 2-3 books each weekend!  :-)

We love to travel. In 2008, we spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica on an eco-tour. In 2007, we spent 10 days in Belgium and the Netherlands. The tulip gardens were wonderful, and the chocolate was divine! Other trips include 3 weeks in Great Britain, 5 weeks camping in Europe, travel in Japan, Israel, Greece, Mexico, Canada, and over 40 of the 50 United States.

We also love being outdoors hiking and camping, and have spent five weeks at a time in a tent - twice ! Here is a picture of my husband and our dog, Worf, as we canoe down the Kentucky River Palisades.
