Research Databases Available Through the LRC

America: History & Life    citations database  full-text database
Citations to books and journals covering the history of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. With over 496,000 bibliographic entries, this database indexes 2,000 journals published worldwide. Also includes Clio Notes (chronologies and summaries of significant events and themes in American history).


American Chemical Society Journals  full-text database
Provides full-text articles from over 30 chemistry journals.


ARTFL  full-text database
Consists of nearly 2000 texts, ranging from classic works of French literature to various kinds of non-fiction prose and technical writing. The eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries are about equally represented, with a smaller selection of seventeenth century texts as well as some medieval and Renaissance texts. Subjects include literary criticism, biology, history, economics, and philosophy.


ATLAS Serials: Religion Index      citations database      full-text database
Includes a full range of index citations to journal articles, essays in multi-author works, and book reviews from three ATLAS print indexes: Religion Index One, Religion Index Two, and Index to Book Reviews in Religion. Spans over 50 years with selected records going back to 1818. About forty of the journals have the full text of the articles available online. Our access is through EBSCOhost.

Academic Search Premier   Provides full text for nearly 4,600 scholarly publications, including full text for more than 3,500 peer-reviewed journals.

Agricola   Contains bibliographic records from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's National Agricultural Library. Coverage for AGRICOLA dates back to 1970 and includes more than 2.5 million citations. The citations are comprised of journal articles, monographs, theses, patents, software, audiovisual materials, and technical reports related to agriculture.

American Humanities Index   Is a collection of bibliographic references to literary, scholarly and creative journals published in the United States and Canada.

Business Source Premier   Provides full text for nearly 3,800 scholarly business journals, including full text for more than 1,100 peer-reviewed business publications.

CINAHL   Is the authoritative resource for nursing and allied health professionals, students, educators and researchers.

Clinical Pharmacology   Provides access up-to-date, concise and clinically-relevant drug monographs for all U.S. prescription drugs, hard-to-find herbal and nutritional supplements, over-the-counter products and new and investigational drugs.

Communication & Mass Media Complete   Provides articles in areas related to communication and mass media.

ERIC   Contains more than 2,200 digests along with references for additional information and citations and abstracts from over 980 educational and education-related journals.

Funk & Wagnall's New World Encyclopedia   Has over 25,000 encyclopedic entries covering a variety of subject areas.

Health Source - Consumer Edition   Provides information on many health topics including the medical sciences, food sciences and nutrition, childcare, sports medicine and general health.

Designed to offer current news pertaining to all branches of the military and government, this database offers a thorough collection of periodicals, academic journals, and other content pertinent to the increasing needs of those sites. The Military & Government Collection provides cover-to-cover full text for nearly 300 journals and periodicals and indexing and abstracts for nearly 400 titles.

MLA Directory of Periodicals   Offers detailed information on over 7,100 journals, with 4,400 currently indexed in the International Bibliography.

MLA International Bibliography   Is a bibliography of journal articles, books and dissertations.

Newspaper Source   Provides selected full text for 25 national (U.S.) and international newspapers. The database also contains full text television & radio news transcripts, and selected full text for more than 200 regional (U.S.) newspapers.
