Personal Laptops and Wireless Technology

Georgetown College students, faculty, or staff with active technology accounts may use their wireless network cards in the LRC to access the Y Drive and Internet, as well as send documents to library printers.

To connect to the wireless network using a laptop, open a browser and you should automatically be verified through the Bradford System which will allow you network access. If you have not yet registered your computer on the network, the Bradford System will guide you through the setup process and then allow you access.

To map your Y drive, open Windows Explorer.  Choose “Tools” and “Map Network Drive” from the top menus.  Assign “Y” as the letter and \\abraham\jdoe0$\ as the folder.

To print to a library printer, you must install the printer driver.  You must still swipe your G-Card to begin printing your documents, and you may do this from your dormitory as well.  Print jobs can be retrieved for two hours after being sent to the printer.

·        Choose “Start” and “Run.”

·        Type \\p4p\LRCT3C  to install the printer in the T3 Center.

·        Type \\p4p\LRCREF to install the printer in the Reference Room.

If you still have any questions or need help setting up your wireless account, please contact the IT Help Desk at 863-4357(HELP) and they will be happy to assist you.
